Audio transcription
Audio transcription is the first step of any localisation process of multimedia materials. It consists of transforming audio into translatable text that can be used for subtitling and audio dubbing. DAT uses automatic transcription tools, with rigorous human control to ensure high reliability.  

Subtitling

Subtitling is the most cost-effective solution for internationalizing multimedia content. It is faster to implement, more economically advantageous, and efficient to transmit content. The target audience is often used to this kind of communication through cinematographic works in original version but subtitled.
The operation consists in writing, generally at the bottom of the screen, the dialogues of the actors who remain audible in the original language.

Voice Over

The voice over technique consists in superimposing a sound track, in the desired language, on the original sound track. It is therefore a matter of recording a new soundtrack, but not necessarily with  voices that correspond to the characters of the actors. The original soundtrack stays in the background. It is a technique mainly used for interviews and aims to ensure the authenticity of the speaker's speech.

Dubbing

Audio dubbing is the most elaborate form of localization of mutlimedia content. It consists of replacing all the dialogues in the original soundtrack with dialogues recorded in the target language. And for the sake of truth, voices are chosen according to the personalities of the speakers. It also requires synchronization of dialogues so that the public has an impression that speakers speak in the target language.
